Para prevenir la morbilidad y mortalidad de las madres gestantes se deben promover condiciones de higiene y salud, acceso a alimentos y agua potable y saneamiento. En 2006 Manos Unidas aprobó 100 proyectos agrícolas y el acceso al agua.
